Retail and Commercial Precincts Strategy
Council has been working with local business associations to develop and implement its Retail and Commercial Precinct strategies designed to celebrate the unique aspects of each precinct and, in doing so, offer each precinct increased market position.
Recent initiatives have seen:
- Peregian Beach Business Association produce and launch a regional television commercial that focuses on the array of products and services available in and around the newly up-graded Village Square.
- Tewantin Community Association produce and launch the ‘Tewantin Guide’ a print based directory which features a new logo, business and services listing and a local area map which features a number of Tewantin Icons including the Noosa Marina, the Noosa Regional Gallery, access to the Noosa North Shore and much more.
- Cooroy Chamber of Commerce developed a new logo to underpin future advertising, marketing and communications.
- The Noosa Junction Commercial and Economic Planning Strategy is a project initiated by the Noosa Junction Traders Association, supported by Council and Noosa Junction property owners with the aim of identifying the preferred future for Noosa Junction, ensuring the continued growth and prosperity of businesses in the precinct. The Strategy was completed in November 2008 and the working group of traders, council and property owners is currently finalising the action plan with a number of exciting initiatives based on the recommendations that were identified. The report articulated a vision for Noosa Junction that links “Purpose with Pleasure’, and is supported by a number of economic and place making strategies and initiatives to facilitate economic vitality, environmental integrity and social well being to realise a preferred economic future for Noosa Junction.
